I've heard alot about him, original talent from Newfoundland, one of the pioneers you might say, brilliant songwriter and fairly decent
singer. On the personal side, I've heard about him that he's a bit on the arrogant side, a little thorny you might say and not without the full
complement of baggage. This man seems to have issues, a little broken . Where am I going with this ... well I guess this is what
I've always thought, maybe from general public opinion, I don't know but I really like this man. I have always been aware of him on the music scene
but never took the opportunity to check out his music. A friend of mine encouraged me and I have never looked back. I love his lyrics and I love him singing
them , they are just not the same without his peculiar bent. I wish you were reading this Ron, your talent is immense, you've the soul of a poet and you have
made a huge impact on me as a newfoundlander, thank you.

It's more than that though, those thoughts seem so packaged, maybe this can explain it....
I took the opportunity at the ship inn ( a local pub ) one night to thank him for sharing his talent, offhandedly I prefaced my comments with if it matters,
unequivocally with direct eye contact he responded " it matters " he gave me a hug afterwards.... its that hug that got me ...
We are all human, sometimes we forget that, always quick to point the finger; he strikes me as the quasimodo of our time.
There is such great beauty in him, it comes out in his songs, I just hope it comes out in his life.
"...how is one heart chosen to never live in peace... how many moments remain is there not one of sweet realease..."
taken from Atlantic Blue written by Ron Hynes

ok, its saturday and I've had the said treats and they were immensely enjoyed.Ok , what is this with david colinette or however the hell
you spell his name, ok a bunch of newfies and bluenosers, not a big loss, decision made. What the hell is that all about. Now I do understand that
a decision had to be made and quickly, low population density and all that but don't tell me for one second that the old stereotype and underlying
prejudices didn't rear their ugly heads. I just know it did and it really pisses me off, well actually no change that... you know the truth is the mainlanders
just don't get it... we've had the right stuff all along they just don't get it... small doesn't mean stupid , rural doesn't mean backwards; in actual fact
without knowing it , it was the best decision he could have made, look what actually happened. All the stupid backward people showed the world
humanity the likes of which hasn't been seen since christ , since ghandi, since diana... ah you know what I mean... selfless unconditional love and
caring towards all including strangers. A greek pathologist told me once phloxine was the love of strangers, well we phloxined our little hearts out.
I am so damn proud, maybe david should come here and learn a new appreciation for the backward , federal coffer sucking, people that he thinks
we are, he will get as we all know quite the fright. Real people, yessirre bob, not hospitable because its politically correct but because we truly are...
hell a stranger met me outside my house and needed a phone book to find the address he was looking for, he was promptly welcomed in sat right
down and sure had a cookie while he waited.... ok so he didn't have a cookie but he did come in! Anyway relax bye, we were glad you sent them,
its always a pleasure to help, its in our genes, just get over that prejudicial mentality that you have...you'll be alright bye just get rid of that tie, its
cutting the oxygen supply off and doing something to your brain.

seeya again

ok it's friday, eeeahhhh!!!!! Take-out tonight; coffee, newspaper , thick white terrrycloth robe in the morning. I guess I am aging
and I really like it. I have no interest in clubbing partying and waking up hung over. I'd rather get a couple of movies, takeout and
look forward to the morning and then the rest of the day. Don't get me wrong I'm not dead, i do like to party on occasion and when
I do , I do but my priorities have changed and I like where I am now.
Tomorrow let's see.... I think its time for another trip to afterwards second hand bookstore....maybe lunch somewhere. Real
food theme going on here, surprise surprise...

No strong opinions yet but be forewarned it won't always be marshmellows

see ya again

well this is it my own place to poke some of the stuff that's been encircling the old brain.
